Lyndee & Angus | Chicago Engagement

Lyndee & Angus were introduced to me by my very good friends Heather & Mike. They are friends that met at their church Trinity Lutheran Church which is also where I met Lyndee & Angus for our wedding consultation. What a fun couple. Lyndee is from Houston, so she has a bit of a Texas twang while Angus is from Scotland, who also has a bit of an accent. I could sit and listen to them talk all day!

Angus ran the Chicago Marathon this past October. When they returned to their hotel at The Palmer House Hilton, he proposed to Lyndee where she gladly accepted. They wanted to make sure to get some engagement pictures there, so downtown we went! It was a chilly day but you certainly can’t tell, they were such troopers and I was pretty impressed.

Here are some photos of their session that day, you can just feel the love these two have for each other. Enjoy!

My Family | Chicago Portrait Session

My nieces and nephews have such a huge impact on why I decided to pick up a camera 6 years ago. Having them to practice on was definitely beneficial to my growth as a photographer. My youngest niece, Ariela, was only 2 when I first started. At first she was a willing participant, however “Titi” (which is what she calls me) started to get a bit annoying…I’m sure she felt like I was paparazzi! Their willingness/unwillingness to be in front of a camera helped me learn how to shoot in those types of situations as there are many children of all ages that aren’t so comfortable in front of a camera.

After years of photographing them, I am so proud of how easy they were during our shoot last weekend. They needed minor direction and we had a ton of fun. I wanted to get some photos of them to prepare for my Mother’s day present for my mom. Here are a few photos from their session that day. Enjoy!
