Nikki & Brandon Married

Congratulations to Nikki & Brandon! These two lovebirds met at Dunbar High School and became fast friends. Friends then became lovers and here we are celebrating their union. We started the day at Nikki’s bridesmaid’s house and then to Prairie Productions for the ceremony and reception. It was a beautiful ceremony in the shade surrounded by their family and close friends.

I love the purple shoes!
She couldn’t hold back her tears! They both read their vows from their iPhone…This was Brandon’s excitement after the ceremony…I LOVE this pic! They had matching custom Chucks

Thanks to Marlo and Erwin for their assistance! You guys ROCK!

Rewind: First Half of 2010

Before diving into a normal post for the new blog, I thought I’d provide a quick recap of the first half of the year. It’s been quite an awesome year and I’ve had so much fun with all my shoots, portraits and weddings. So let’s start with my first family session of the year!

I had the pleasure of attending WPPI this year which was held in Las Vegas. I actually try to make it out there pretty often to visit a great friend of my, Laurel. She gathered up her family and we headed to Red Rock for some family portraits. Here are just a few samples.

So, I was a busy girl that day. Nikki and Neil joined me for an engagement session right after Laurel’s! It was a cold day but Nikki and Neil were DETERMINED to take these photos and I don’t know about you, but I surely think they were worth it! Thanks to Laurel, who escorted me into the rocks…I was very very scared!

Since it started raining I asked Nikki and Neil to hook up with me later again that week. With the help of Marlo & Erwin we got some fun shots off the strip.

The visit to WPPI was an awesome experience and was able to take so much away from it. With that experience I was getting pumped to shoot Kristin and Adam’s wedding. But before I could go there, we had their engagement session in downtown Oak Park.

…and then their wedding in April.

My niece Stephanie and her fiancĂ© Drex came to visit us from Ohio. I asked her to pack up something cute for an engagement session. This was so much fun! I love night photos and beautiful subjects! I will be photographing their wedding next weekend…I can’t wait!

Then in May I shot another wonderful wedding for Gladys and Juan (Divoc).

In May, again, I had the opportunity to shoot Senior Portraits for Charlie.

Finally, to end the first half of 2010, I shot these two bundles of joy…twins! Kevin and Bella…cutie patooties!

What a great way to start my year!

Welcome to my Blog

Filed under: Chicago — Maricel @ 9:17 pm

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally managed to get a website together and a blog! For the past year, I’ve been using Facebook for my recent posts and now I am so happy to be able to share with the world. I’m not the best writer, so bear with me folks; if it doesn’t make sense, say it out loud since I was probably talking to myself while writing.

I wanted to send a few shout outs to a few important people. I want to thank my 2nd shooter Marlo for helping me make things happen this season. Please don’t give up on me!!! I know I’m just a little tiny weenie bit stubborn. Also, I want to thank my wonderful boyfriend Jeremy for being so supportive of my photography endeavors, thanks honey! I appreciate the encouragement and help you have provided…without your support, things would certainly not be the same. Of course, my family and awesome friends! Without them and their kids (haha) I don’t think I would have ever discovered a love for photography. Last, but not least, thanks to all my wonderful clients! Without your belief in me, I would not be here blogging about you! Thank you so much for letting me capture your moments, it’s truly and honor.

Okay, enough sappy stuff. I’ll be back this week with a collection of photos from this past year.
